What To Expect At Williston's Scouting Recruitment Night This Thursday

If you've ever wondered whether Scouting might be a good fit for your child, there's a chance to find out more without making a big commitment.

Families interested in Scouting are invited to the Williston Scouting Recruitment Night on Thursday, September 10, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds Curling Club Building.

The evening will give families a chance to meet representatives from local Cub Scout Packs and Scout Troops, ask questions, and learn which program may work best for their child and schedule.

Something for Every Age

Scouting opportunities are available for young people from kindergarten through 12th grade. Cub Scouts serve youth in grades K through 5, while Scout Troops are available for grades 6 through 12.

There is plenty to keep kids busy, including camping, fishing, Pinewood Derby events, family outings, community service projects and outdoor adventures.

But Scouting isn't just about spending time outdoors.

Young people also have opportunities to develop confidence, responsibility, teamwork, self reliance and leadership skills, while learning the importance of giving back to their communities.

Parents and kids don't need any previous Scouting experience to attend the recruitment night. It's simply an opportunity to stop by, meet local Scouts and adult leaders and learn more about what is available in the Williston area.
