If you've driven by or gone into Bismarck's Target store lately, you may have noticed something strange. --Tents, tarps, and large bins all over the place.

It might look concerning to you. You might be wondering if something is wrong. After a few people reached out to us and we did a little digging, we found out what could be going on.

According to a post on the Bismarck Target's Facebook page, the Bismarck store is undergoing a remodel. Many people commented on the post, with guesses and concerns. Some guessed a closure; others guessed a new food court. The truth is, we don't exactly know, but hold on...

The post from Target says they are simply "Remodeling". Given the post's cheeky, upbeat tone, we can assume this isn't a bad thing. It looks like a new and improved Target is soon coming to Bismarck.

Though we haven't gotten confirmation from the Bismarck store itself, we did see that reports came out late last year that the retailer had plans to make many stores into a "larger format". According to Costar.com, the corporation has plans to expand its spaces to accommodate online orders and offer a greater selection of groceries. This, to the tune of 5 billion dollars nationwide.

From what we can tell, the discount section that is typically stacked with seasonal items is covered and undergoing a change. As far as the parking lot goes, they may be using it as a sort of staging ground to get things organized. This is only speculation, but from what we can tell, the unveiling will soon happen at our local Target and hopefully we will have a greater grocery selection, but at the very least we can expect a greater online and/or digital order fulfillment area. Look out for changes at Bismarck's target and get your wallets ready.
