Lost Purse + Bismarck Walmart = Honest Woman With Integrity
Have you ever come across a situation when your integrity and honesty are put to the test?
It happens so fast you know? It's a moment that unfortunately many people take the wrong path and make wrong decisions. A situation came about last night here in Bismarck which happens all the time, I found out about this one, and immediately thought about making an example of this.
To some people, this may not seem like a big deal. Why write an article about it?
"If u forgot ur purse in a shopping cart at s. Walmart it's at customer service" That was from a post last night on the Bismarck People Reporting News Group Facebook page. Her name is Naomi Demarce. I was able to reach her on the phone for a couple of minutes, I had some simple questions for her. You see, I am intrigued by what goes on in a person's mind the exact second someone sees something out of the ordinary, and a potential opportunity for the dishonest ones. Naomi's first thought was, that could be someone's rent money. Her answer is the EXACT reason why I wrote this article.
Her quick reaction was to take the purse to a customer service counter
Another unselfish move was to write a very quick post on a group page on Facebook that is a beacon for local Bismarck/Mandan people. Some choose to be negative and insensitive with their comments, but I feel the majority are good solid people who care for others in our community, and that is a TEXTBOOK example of what Naomi displayed last night.
One last thing...
Naomi was with her husband and 4-year old daughter when she saw the purse. There wasn't a single doubt in her mind what her next move was going to be "Someone will be looking for it, they will realize it's missing. They might not remember where they left it. I want my daughter to see what it's like to do the right thing"
That's what it's like, to be honest, and to have integrity.
