Roughly 50 officers made their way to St. Anthony on Tuesday, September 27 because the pipeline protesters were blocking the road.

According to officials, 5 arrests were made because the protesters were blocking the highway. The Sheriff's Department says the blockage was to help people get near the Dakota Access site. Additional arrests could be made after they review the video of the protest.

The protesters say they were gathering peacefully to pray. There were about 300 protesters gathered on or near the road of highway 6.

A spokesperson for the protest said some of the protesters even tried to shake the hands of the officers that responded to the scene to thank them, but some of the officers (not all) were not receptive or polite.
