Moritz Sport and Marine presented a generous donation of $150,000 towards the new Dale Pahlke Arena at Dakota Community Band & Trust Rodeo Grounds. The $2.8 million arena will be a state-of-the-art facility. Home to the 144th Mandan Rodeo coming in July, this new arena will now also serve as a premier destination for rodeo events, concerts and other community gathers.

“We chose to make this donation for the rodeo community and the city of Mandan as a way to give back to the community that we have been a part of for over 25 years,” Tracy Meschke, the Brand Marketing Manager at Moritz Sport and Marine said.

Since its inception in 1997, Moritz Sport and Marine has endeavored to bring the best deals on boats, watercraft, and other outdoor sports vehicles to our customers. As the only boat dealer in the Bismarck Mandan area with direct water access. Moritz Sport and Marine is committed to being involved in the community through different sponsorships, events, and contributions.

Slated for completion in May 2023, the newly constructed Dale Pahlke Arena, will provide the city of Mandan with a permanent home to epic rodeo events.

“We really appreciate the community for stepping up to support this project. We feel it’s a great opportunity for the region,” Dale Pahlke, President and CEO of Dakota Community Bank & Trust said. “This arena project furthers our commitment to ranching and the western way of life.”

As the largest rodeo in North Dakota and one of the oldest in the country, the Mandan Rodeo is expecting a total of 9,000 attendees over the course of the event in 2023, which would be an event record. The Mandan Rodeo became famous as part of the “big loop” that included the Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Calgary Stampede allowing cowboys to go from rodeo to rodeo winning money in what’s referred to as “Cowboy Christmas” around the Fourth of July.
