Choosing the right kind or flavor of cake is a big deal. You want to make everyone happy. As it turns out, North Dakotans have a go-to cake. According to eatthis.com, the most popular wedding cake flavor in North Dakota is Angel Food cake.  

I find this incredibly surprising. I guess this might be a good choice if you don’t want something that will feel heavy on your stomach. After all, you need to be able to bust a move on the dance floor.

According to shaneco.com, the most popular wedding dress is a long-sleeved, simple gown. I’ve never gotten married, but if it were me, I’d make a much more razzle-dazzly choice. You only get one of these things (Mostly), and you have to do it up. I’d go full princess, fluffy ballgown. When else can you wear something extravagant? That said, you might like something a little more elegant and sophisticated, or maybe you just have tattoos to hide, do what feels and looks right to you.

According to Cosmopoliton, North Dakota's most popular wedding venue is none other than Sanctuary Events Center in Fargo. It’s an old church that has been converted into an event center. It’s a large space with a little history and charm. It even has stained glass windows.

Another popular choice is the Plains Art Museum in Fargo. The atrium is a beautiful choice for a reception. That said, there are plenty of places in Bismarck-Mandan where you can have a beautiful wedding. New venues are popping up left and right.

According to BusinessInsider, the most popular wedding song in North Dakota is Ed Sheeran’s timeless hit, "Thinking Out Loud.” Other states like Rhode Island, went with “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perry. Looking at the list, Ed Sheeran songs were chosen quite a lot. He’s basically the king of love ballads.
