Pop up Demonstrations win Community Award
Remember those around the streets last year? They're finally getting noticed upstairs.
The pop-up demonstrations won a regional community development award which is a pretty high honor. The reason for this was to encourage more engagement for people in the area. Create ore Bike Lanes, more places for pedestrians and overall to get people moving around town during the warm months.
It was a great demonstration, mainly because of the press and the awareness it caused last year. The awareness was due to the curiosity at first at what this was. As time went on the real reason for these pop-ups was eventually revealed.
Personally, it was great to see a town get involved with the business district and the residential areas that way. It gave our city a sense of community and I'm curious about why we aren't doing it this year. Maybe it's because of all the construction.
