Looks like winter is not done yet.  Depending what weather model you look at, we could be in for a 2 or 3 day snow storm this coming weekend.  The European model keeps the storm to the north and west of Bismarck.  The US model has a direct hit over Bismarck and could leave us with measurable snow.  Local weather forecasters are not telling you to cancel your weekend plans, but be aware of rapidly changing conditions.  Let's hope the European model is correct.

Snow is expected to begin late Friday night and continue through Sunday.  Snow in March is certainly not out of the norm for us in North Dakota.  Often, March is one of our snowiest months.  However, we have been in a very dry pattern since the middle of January.  In fact, we haven't seen over two inches of snow since then.

Expect watches or warnings to be issued as early as today or tomorrow from the National Weather Service.
