According to a new study by Wallet Hub, North Dakota is the best state to be a police officer.

In order to come up with the rankings, Wallet Hub looked at roughly 20 different metrics from median income, to transparency, to police deaths per 1,000 officers, crime rates and more.

North Dakota apparently had among the highest median income increases for police officers from 2015 to 2016.

The Peace Garden State also had the highest percentage of homicide cases solved.

North Dakota was also ranked No. 1 in terms of the 'quality of life rank,' No. 6 in the 'job hazards and protections' rank and No. 12 in 'opportunity and competition.'

Overall, Wallet Hub determined North Dakota was the best state for police officers.
