The University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks dropped the opening game of the Frozen Faceoff to a tough St. Cloud State team in a hard-fought overtime battle.

As you notice from the video, it didn't take long into overtime for the Huskies to dispose of UND by a score of 3-2. That came after an intense 60 minutes of action in regulation.

The Fighting Hawks never led but came back to tie it both times they trailed in regulation down 1-0 and 2-1.

Jordan Kawwaguchi scored on a power play to get it to 2-2 with just under 10 minutes remaining in the 3rd period.

Nick Jones scored the first goal for UND that tied it at 1-1 with over 15 minutes left in the 2nd period.

St. Cloud State's first two goals came from Patrick Newell (1st period) and Easton Brodzinski (2nd period).

Despite the tough loss, Cam Johnson certainly did his best to give UND a chance throughout with some incredible saves.

So what does this mean for UND's season?

It all rests on whether or not Clarkson can beat Harvard tonight.
