The U.S. Mint has designed a quarter to honor Theodore Roosevelt National Park as part of their 'America the Beautiful Quarters Program.'

The 'America the Beautiful Quarters Program' began in 2010 with the U.S. Mint designing five new quarters per year until 2021.

The quarters are uncirculated and must be purchased on the U.S. Mint website.

The design of the coin according to the U.S. Mint:

The design depicts a young Theodore Roosevelt on horseback surveying the terrain near the Little Missouri River. Inscriptions are “THEODORE ROOSEVELT,” “NORTH DAKOTA,” “2016” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” Design candidates were developed in consultation with representatives of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Rolls and bags of the quarter will become available for sale on August 29. A special Three-Coin Set along with the opportunity to buy individual coins will be available in October of 2016.
