Walls Going Up At Your Soon To Be Favorite Chicken Place In Bismarck

Chick-fil-A is pretty popular.  I went back to my hometown of Grand Forks a couple weeks back, and on our way back to Bismarck it was a must to stop at Chick-fil-A.  We sat in line at the drive thru for nearly 20 minutes, but it was worth it.  Again, Chick-fil-A is that good.  To be honest, I rarely went there because I seldom had that extra 20 minutes to wait in line with my busy life.  That didn't mean I didn't want or crave Chick-fil-A.

I'm not alone in my thinking, Chick-fil-A is one of the most popular chicken restaurant in the United States.  According to the Restaurant Finance Monitor, Chick-fil-A had a record breaking year in 2020 despite the global pandemic.  Chick-fil-A did 4.3 billion in revenue in 2020 compared to 3.8 billion in 2019.  They are the 9th largest franchise company in the United States.  In the article, it went on to say the company reported comprehensive earnings of $715.9 million in 2020 versus $647.2 million in 2019.  That is an increase of 10.6%.  Chick-fil-A had a total of 2,598 restaurants as of December, 31st, 2020.  That's an increase of over a 100 restaurants from back in 2019.

Now, Chick-fil-A is set to take the Capitol city by storm.  Walls are going up as I write this article.  Chick-fil-A in Bismarck will be located on the old Herberger's parking lot at Kirkwood Mall on 3rd street.  According to Mayor Steve Bakken, Chick-fil-A will likely open sometime this fall.

A couple of things I can tell you from my experiences with the restaurant.  Chick-fil-A does not open Sundays.  They franchise keeps it stores closed for religious purposes.  Mayor Steve Bakken says, that's why Chick-fil-A originally had a hard time getting into airports around the country, because they're closed on Sunday.  As it turned out, it didn't matter because of their tremendous sales.  You can also expect Chick-fil-A to be a big part of the community, as they are known to be a big supporter of non-profits.  Including, homelessness, hunger and education.
