Big Huge Dog In A Moving Pickup In Mandan – How Is This Safe?
I ask you this - while looking at the above picture, how does this look safe? How many times have we been out on a busy street somewhere in Bismarck/Mandan, and see a big huge dog or dogs with no leash in the back of a truck?. My initial thought is always "Man I hope this vehicle doesn't get rear-ended" or "What if the driver has to come to a quick sudden stop - How does the dog keep its balance?"
Do you think the same way I do?
I keep thinking to myself over and over - how is this dog owner oblivious to what could happen? Does he or she not care? I also wondered if it's legal to keep an animal in the back of your pickup while you are driving - have you ever thought the same? Well according to magnumtruckracks.com "While 31 states place some regulation on passengers riding in the bed of a truck, there are still 20 states that have no legal regulation" - North Dakota is one of those 20.
Seems kind of hard to believe, doesn't it?
I'm guessing there are a lot of people glad I don't make the laws, and I should probably mind my own business with my "Old man views" Here is the thing, I'm not trying to be a "Debbie Downer" and throw a roadblock at anyone else feeling free to be able to put their dog in any situation they want to - but I still find it pretty hard to believe that some would jeopardize the safety of their dog.
Does it make you nervous when you pull up behind a dog in the back of a pickup?
