Three things are certain in life.

Death, taxes, and road construction.  Tis' the season for summer road construction and there are a couple of areas you should be aware of this week in Bismarck.

Now, through the end of the week, there is road construction that will affect your commute on Main Avenue.  According to a press release from the city of Bismarck, the southernmost eastbound lane of Main Avenue will be closed to traffic.  The actual work zone will be 400 feet west of 24th street.  Access to businesses in the area will be maintained.  The closure will be in place for utility work within the area of the closure.  Weather permitting the road construction should be completed by the end of the week.

There's a second area you should be aware of as well.

This construction began at 7 am this morning on Broadway Avenue from 12th Street to 14th Street.  This area will be closed to traffic.  No Parking will be allowed on Broadway Avenue during the closure while construction is going on.  The closure will be in place for a contractor to do work on a water main on 13th Street.  The construction will take place through the weekend weather permitting.  Access to adjacent properties will be maintained.  No detour will be in place in this area of construction.

During peak traffic hours, traffic can expect higher than normal congestion, and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.

The city of Bismarck greatly appreciates your patience.
