It's wasn't a great ending for the basketball Bison this past week, but the team is looking ahead with optimism to next year.

The Fargo Forum reports the Bison fell to the Duke Blue Devils Friday 85 - 62. The game's early, rising-star performance of guard Vinnie Shahid notwithstanding, the Bison fell short in the second half.

Still the Bison have reason for optimism. having made some impressive inroads this past season, even winning the admiration of the coach who beat them.

“The last month of the season, I thought they were the best team in their league,” said Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

NDSU coach Dave Richman says the return of Shahid, along with junior Tyson Ward, sophomore Jordan Horn and others promises a bright season for the team next year.

Even coach Krzyzewski agrees: "Watch out. They’re going to be that team in their conference. That’s my prediction.”
