Can You Guess Which NoDak City Has The Highest COVID-19 Rate?

I'm sure you are like me, extremely sick of hearing about COVID-19.  Still, I'm a numbers guy (must be the baseball player in me), and I'm fascinated by statistics and graphs.

America has had more COVID-19 deaths than any other country.  According to Statista, over 650,000 people have died from the coronavirus in the United States to date.  Over 4.5 million people worldwide have died from COVID-19.  Those are some sobering statistics, when it comes to what we are still dealing with, now a year and half into this virus.

So, how about we examine the state of North Dakota and the state of COVID-19 within the Peace Garden State.  According to 24-7 Wallstreet, the city with the highest COVID-19 cases per capita currently?  Good chance you might be living in it right now.  Yep, currently BISMARCK has the highest COVID-19 rate in the state with 22,530 cases, which works out to 17,670.2 per 100,000.

Let's take a look at the state by counties.  According to the article, Cass County has had the most cases in the state with nearly 26,000,  but they also have the highest population.  How about per capita when it comes to counties?  The 5 counties with the highest COVID-19 cases per capita include:

#1 Eddy with 20,536 cases per 100,000.  (Largest City New Rockford)

#2 Foster 18,328 cases per 100,000.  (Largest City Carrington)

#3  Morton 18,298 cases per 100,000.  (Largest City Mandan)

#4 Walsh 18,024 cases per 100,000. (Largest City Grafton)

#5 Burleigh 17,976 cases per 100,000.  (Largest City Bismarck)

Yikes, Bismarck Mandan things are certainly going in the wrong direction once again as we head into fall.  There you have it, COVID-19 by the numbers for North Dakota.
