It seems that Carson Wentz is not only North Dakota's favorite quarterback, but overall, everyone else's favorite as well.

Wentz ranks #1 in overall NFL merchandise sales. That includes jerseys and all other merchandise bearing the player's likeness or name. According to information made available via NFLShop.com, Wentz merchandise was a top seller in nine states throughout the U.S.: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Utah, Delaware, Montana, and of course, North Dakota. He also had the top ranking for merch sold in the District of Columbia (take that, Washington Redskins fans).

If Wentz had been healthy (torn ACL), he would obviously be the Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback in Super Bowl LII on Sunday, February 4th. The player he beat out in overall merchandise sales this season will be the opposing quarterback on Super Bowl Sunday, the New England Patriots Tom Brady. Last season, Brady held the top overall sales in NFL merchandise. The Patriots quarterback had the top ranking for merch sold in ten states, one more than Wentz, but still came out #2 in overall sales in the U.S.

In overall jersey sales, Wentz held the top two spots with his green number 11 jersey being the NFL's biggest seller, and his black number 11 jersey coming in second. In comparison, Brady jerseys ranked third, 10th, and 11th.

The sales data used for the 2017 NFL season went from September 1, 2017, through January 18, 2018.
