Carson Wentz is Not Expected to Play Sunday with Back Injury
Carson Wentz will be unable to play this Sunday and could possibly miss the rest of the 2018 season with a back injury.
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback will sit out this Sunday night's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Nick Foles will start at quarterback that night for the Eagles. Based on the result of that game and the lingering effects from the severity of Wentz's injury, he may be out for the final two games beyond that.
In 11 games played this season, Wentz has thrown for 21 touchdowns and 7 seven interceptions while completing over 69 percent of his passes for 3074 yards. Wentz missed the first two games of the 2018 season while still recovering from a torn ACL/LCL injury that occurred late in the 2017 season. The Eagles are 5-6 with Wentz as a starter in 2018.
The Eagles (6-7) are still in the playoff hunt in the jumbled NFC playoff picture, but they also need some help along the way. They not only have to play the heavily favored Rams (11-2) on the road this weekend but still have games against a tough Houston Texans (9-4) team and will finish up against a divisional rival, the Washington Redskins (6-7).
This is a developing story. More information will be given when known about the severity of Wentz's injury.
