Closet 127 Seeking Furniture & Houseware Donations to Help People “Start Over”
With all this wonderful North Dakota weather, I did some serious Spring cleaning last weekend. Early Saturday afternoon, I had some things to donate, but I was unable to donate to the place I usually go! Though this was the first time I have had an issue donating, I had read about other people who were having issues dropping off donations too. Luckily, there is an organization that wants to take our donations!
According to KFYR-TV, Closet 127 is a non-profit organization that "provides furniture and housewares to people who are starting over." So, instead of tossing out old furniture and other household things during your spring cleaning, consider donating to Closet 127. KFYR-TV reports that Closet 127 is also looking for volunteers to do things like haul items in trucks for families.
If you do have items to donate, KFYR-TV states that Closet 127 will be holding a donation drive this Sunday, April 11. The organization is collecting furniture, housewares, children and baby items. Get the details here.
At my apartment complex, I see a lot of perfectly good couches, chairs, tables, etc. that end up going to the trash. I must admit, I have also thrown away furniture that I could have given away. And I have also been in a situation where I needed furniture but could not afford new stuff. So, it is great that a program like Closet 127 exists to, not only get furniture for people, but also help them get the furniture home.
