A former McLean County sheriff's deputy has been charged with the sexual assault of a fifteen year-old boy.

The Bismarck Tribune reports Richard Allen Anderson of Turtle Lake is been charged with three felonies — corruption of a minor, luring of a minor by computer and sexual assault.

Court documents say in May a woman called the McLean County Sheriff's Department to report that her son had been sexually assaulted by the defendant. The documents say Mr. Anderson befriended the boy and would invite him to travel to Bismarck "to pick up different things,"

The Tribune says Richard Anderson has worked for four different police departments since 2012.

A Bureau of Criminal Investigations agent reportedly recorded a conversation between the boy and the defendant via video call, where the man reportedly made sexual comments to the boy and masturbated on camera.

The tribune article says Mr. Anderson had his initial appearance in South Central District Court last week, where a judge set a $5,000 unsecured bond.
