Fire Department Responds to Fire at Bismarck McDonald’s Early Thursday
The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a fire at the McDonald's on Miriam Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) morning.
This is the McDonald's that is located at the Oasis truck stop.
According to a press release from the Bismarck Fire Department, crews arrived on scene and saw smoke showing from the outside and they spotted a fire inside.
The fire was in the kitchen area of the restaurant and they were able to extinguish the fire. Nobody was inside the building at the time of the fire.
There were a total of 14 firefighters on scene. There was fire and heat damage to the kitchen area and smoke damage throughout. Though an exact cause of the fire was not specified, it was determined to be accidental.
The Director of Operations for that McDonald's location told us that they are closed but it was not known how long they would stay closed. However, the director did state that he thinks they would be closed for at least the next five days.
This particular McDonald's location was the first one in Bismarck to install self-ordering kiosks.
