Little is known about the airman who opened fire in a Grand Forks Wal-Mart yesterday, and those who knew him best, for now, aren't saying much.

The Tribune reports it was Marcell Willis, a 21 year-old Tennessee native, serving active duty at Grand Forks Air Force Base, who shot two Wal-Mart employees, killing one, before turning the gun on himself.

Willis's girlfriend, Amy Mehs of Grand Forks has withheld comment, as the investigation is ongoing. A hometown friend described the airman as a "bright young man" who perhaps was "in the wrong place at the wrong time."
