Did anyone really think the mask thing and social distancing were only going to be for two weeks (or however many weeks we were initially told)? I guess I probably half-believed it. Now we're going on six months of this and calling it the "new normal." North Dakota has been fairly lax when it comes to the pandemic - most things have been suggestions rather than mandates. But mask wearing has definitely begun to be enforced at stores as of late.
Yesterday (August 11), West Acres Mall in Fargo made a big announcement via Facebook. Starting Monday (August 17th), wearing a mask will no longer be a suggestion while in the mall. It will actually be a mandate. Will Kirkwood Mall in Bismarck, and other malls in North Dakota soon follow suit?
West Acres posted this news on the mall's Facebook page. The post says, "The safety of our customers and staff is our top priority. With over 80% of our store space already having a mask mandate in place, the necessary next step is a mall-wide mask mandate." The post also says that this mandate is important as we enter the busiest shopping season of the year. Check out the post below for more information on the mask mandate at West Acres Mall in Fargo.

So, will Kirkwood Mall and other North Dakota Malls soon implement a mask mandate? I mean, a lot of stores are actually requiring them, anyway. How do you feel about more and more establishments mandating masks?
