This is one of the best ideas I've heard of in a long time.  Imagine being able to get off of a plane and find out in about 15 minutes whether you have the coronavirus?  That way, after your done traveling, you can quarantine if you are indeed asymptomatic or the beginning stages of COVID-19.  This of course will go a long ways in helping prevent the spread of the disease.  Well, low and behold now you can.

According to a press release from the city of Bismarck, Rapid COVID-19 is now available at the Bismarck airport.  The screenings during the week of the Christmas holiday are free and completely voluntary to check for the coronavirus.  This project is in partnership with the North Dakota Department of Health, North Dakota Department of Emergency Services, North Dakota National Guard, Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health and local community leaders.

Voluntary screenings for adults will take place at the Bismarck Airport on arriving flights Dec. 21 – 27, (excluding Dec. 25), twenty minutes prior to arrival, and approximately 45 minutes after each flight lands and deplanes. The rapid antigen screening site will be located near the baggage claim area on ground level of the airport terminal.

By screening with rapid antigen tests, travelers will be able to receive their test results within 15 minutes via text notification. The test also is less invasive than a PCR (Polymerase chain reaction) test in that it uses a nasal swab to collect a sample from the lower part of the nostril.

Interested individuals can fill out an online survey at testreg.nd.gov for faster registration.
