Millennials, those born between 1981-1997 is the group that is taking on the most college debt in the history of education. It is also the group that is in the most competitive job market. Finding a decent job in the tough economic days ahead are difficult if not impossible for many.

It could be looking for part time work or full time work, these are the young men and women are trying to move out of their parents home and trying to find that path in life to succeed. It gets more and more difficult for this group everyday.

Using date from the Minnesota Population Center's 2014 "American Community Survey" in the Integrated Public Use Microdata Series, we found the states that offer this group of young adults to make the most money, annually.

Where does North Dakota rank in this survey? Better than most states. As a matter of fact, NoDak is one of the best states for paying the highest annual salary to this age group.

The highest paying states are

  • North Dakota
  • Minnesota
  • New York
  • Virginia
  • Washington
  • Colorado
  • Wyoming

These states are paying at least $24,000 a year with NoDak, Virginia and New York paying the most at $25,000 annually.
