A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for several areas throughout the state.

The Winter Weather Advisory will take effect at midnight tonight and go through 7 a.m. Sunday morning (March 10th).

As it can often happen, weather models used for snowfall forecasts have shifted from yesterday to today, but plenty of snowfall is still expected throughout many areas of the state.

The Winter Weather Advisory means snowfall will make for hazardous travel as you may see experience snow covered roads and visibility will be limited.

As seen from the tweet above, the Bismarck-Mandan area appears to fall in the 4-6 inches of snow pattern in the forecast.

For tonight, the immediate forecast calls for snow expected to start sometime after 1 a.m. with a low around 17. Then tomorrow, snow throughout the day is expected before changing to patchy blowing snow in the afternoon. Winds are expected to be near 30 miles per hour. Tomorrow night, the forecast shows a 20 percent chance of snow before midnight with wind gusts expected around 28 miles per hour.
