$3.00 Gas Is Here In Bismarck. How High Will It Go This Summer?

As I was driving home from our party cruise on the Lewis & Clark Riverboat last night, I noticed gas stations all over town jacking their prices up another dime.  $2.99 is the new "normal" for gas stations all over Bismarck Mandan.  This comes as many of us in North Dakota, and all over the nation will travel for the 4th of July celebration in just over a week.

If it seems like it's been awhile since we've seen prices this high around the 4th, you are correct.  These are the highest gas prices over the Independence Day time period since 2014.  That's according to an article on Intrado.

The National average for the July 4th weekend 2021 is expected to be $3.11 a gallon.  YIKES.

 That's a far cry from 2020's COVID-19 induced gas average of $2.18 over the 4th of July.

I don't know about you, but $3.00 dollar gas is when I really start to notice the difference at the pump driving a pick-up truck.

All of a sudden it costs you around $70 dollars to fill up your tank.

Don't expect any relief the rest of the summer either. 

According to Gas Buddy, you will see elevated gas prices for the rest of the summer, as the Nation continues to recover from COVID-19.  You might even see another spike right before the Labor Day weekend.  If we run into hurricane disruptions, that could jack up prices even further.
