78 ND Based Companies With 100+ Employees. Roll Up Your Sleeves?
Federal guidelines are being developed to require businesses that employ over 100 people to make medical demands of their staff.
Back in early September President Joe Biden announced sweeping new measures that require employees at large companies to show proof of vaccination or proof of a weekly negative COVID test.
Mandates were expected to come down for medical workers and federal workers.
But now the Feds are looking to put the squeeze on the private business sector. Overall these new measures look to impact two-thirds of all US workers. This is pulled directly from the plan.
The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is developing a rule that will require all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require any workers who remain unvaccinated to produce a negative test result on at least a weekly basis before coming to work. OSHA will issue an Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) to implement this requirement. This requirement will impact over 80 million workers in private sector businesses with 100+ employees.
Now before you go grabbing your pitchforks and torches, OSHA is just now "developing a rule". This could take a while. Although keep them pitchforks handy.
So look around your workplace. How many people are in your crew? Are there business locations in other cities and states?
Businesses clearly do not have to be based in North Dakota.
Obviously right? Walmart employs thousands of NoDaks for sure. But I thought I'd do some digging around about companies BASED in North Dakota that in fact employ over 100 people. Zippia.com compiled a list of the 78 North Dakota-headquartered businesses that employ over 100 people. I'm sure a lot of these numbers could be up for debate.
Is one of these your employer?
If so, get ready to roll up your sleeve or clear out your desk. (or take and pass a COVID test every darn week). Not quite yet though...but OSHA's working on it.
