Bismarck Public Schools would like to recognize Legacy High School Senior AVID student Jasper Kuleck for receiving the National Dell Scholarship Award.

AVID stands for Advanced Via Individual Determination.  This is an in-school academic support program for grades seven through twelve.  This program prepares students for college eligibility and success.

This program obviously works as Jasper was selected out of thousands of applicants from all over the United States.

Jasper will receive $20,000 in tuition assistance, a Dell laptop, specific funds for textbooks, and access to other services for the duration of his undergraduate studies.

Jasper was selected for his outstanding academic and leadership contributions to AVID, a college-readiness program.  AVID focuses on writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading.  Jasper has been an AVID Elective student since his sophomore year of high school.

So, what's next for Jasper Kuleck?  He plans to attend St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.

He's an active musician, performing in numerous community-wide ensembles, including the Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra.  Jasper is also an AP Scholar with the highest distinction and also competes for Legacy's Science Olympiad team.

Jasper’s Senior AVID instructor, Landen Schmeichel, holds Jasper as “one of the best academic minds that has benefited the community of learning at LHS in recent memory.

Congratulations to Jasper and all the best in your future endeavors.
