Elizabeth Warren emerged as the apparent "winner" in the first of the two debates this week of the Democratic presidential contenders.

The participants in Wednesday's debate had their differences, but they shared one sentiment - Donald Trump has to go.

Other response-generating moments:

Former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke answering a question in English and Spanish. Senator Cory Booker glared at him in response. Mr. Booker also made some remarks in Spanish.

When asked about his views on a marginal tax rate, Mr. O'Rourke spoke at some length about the economy in general.

When Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said he was "only candidate" onstage who has signed a law protecting women’s rights to abortion, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar broke in to take exception.

Dark horse candidate Bill DeBlasio (mayor of New York) broke in several times in an apparent effort to get noticed.

Former Obama housing chief Julian Castro criticized Beto O'Rourke for the latter's views on immigration.

The second debate is Thursday night (June 27).
