Is Dickinson’s McGillivray House the Most Haunted House in North Dakota?

What may look like a relatively normal house in Dickinson might actually be the most haunted house in North Dakota, according to OnlyInYourState.com.

The McGillivray house, also known to locals as 'the lion house' due to the massive stone lions that once adorned the front porch, sits at 345 Sims Street in Dickinson.

The house was built in the 1890s by a man named A.C. McGillivray, though he and his wife only lived in the house for a very short period of time. McGillivray's wife passed away just a few years after moving into the home and McGillivray himself passed away a handful of years after that.

Those deaths, however, are not the reason many think that the McGillivray house is haunted.

Years after the death of the McGillivrays, a new family moved into the home. According to OnlyInYourState.com, the husband and father killed his wife and their children inside the home, before hanging himself.

Since those deaths, some in Dickinson feel an uneasiness when passing by the home and renters have said they've seen a ghost roaming the halls.

One of the home's former owners, however, recently took to Facebook to state that the house is, in fact, not haunted:

The new homeowners are in the process of renovating the McGillivray house.
