In a not so surprising move, the committee for the North Dakota American Legion baseball have officially cancelled the 2020 season.  In a previous announcement earlier this month the Legion had also cancelled the season.  After hundreds of comments from fans on their facebook page, the American Legion decided to re-visit the situation on April 20th.

Well, late last night the decision was made and no Reps, Senators or Governors this year at Municipal Field.  This would've been my son's first season playing legion baseball and it's devastating news that COVID-19 has taken another thing away from our youth.

The American Legion had already cancelled regional tournaments and the World Series.  According to the North Dakota American Legion Baseball facebook page, "The decision was made solely to preserve the safety and health of everyone associated with the program."  It's tough to argue with that statement, even though it's extremely disappointing for baseball fans all across North Dakota.

As a former Legion player, Cal Ripken & Babe Ruth coach, I truly feel for these kids.  Looks like I will be throwing a lot of BP to my kid this Summer to keep him sharp.  Good thing I have a rubber arm!
