Governor Doug Burgum at his daily press conference today said he would allow his executive order of restricted businesses to expire on April 30th.  This means North Dakota's closed businesses will begin to re-open under specific guidelines on this Friday, May 1st.  The Governor said, "conditions are right to re-open phase one".

Guidelines for "High Contact  Businesses" including Bars, Restaurants, Breweries.  They must operate at 50% of normal capacity.  Dance floors will remain closed.  1 to 2 people per bar group.

Guidelines for personal service businesses such as hair salons, barbers, tanning salons include employees and customers to wear masks, adjust appointment times to space out customers, have customers remain in vehicles until time of appointment and keep a daily record of close contacts.

Guidelines for movie theaters will be announced in the next couple of days.  Coming soon is guidelines for recreation centers, athletic centers & music venues.

North Dakota currently at the time of this article sits at 991 active cases.  33 of our 51 counties do NOT have an active case of COVID-19.
