Again, no surprise.  The same day that officials from the North Dakota State Fair in Minot cancelled the ND State Fair, North Dakota Health officials recommended the 2020 Red River Valley Fair in Fargo be cancelled according to KVLY-TV.

The Red River Valley Fair 2020 was set to run July 7th through July 12th.  The board of directors from the Red River Valley Fair decided to follow the recommendations from the North Dakota Health officials.  Board president Vern Hofman supported the decision in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the media press release, all mega passes will be refunded if brought to the fair office.  The 2020 Red River Valley Fair was set to feature a carnival, 4H, Ag Education Center, livestock, racing and live music featuring Hairball, Lanco, Trace Adkins, Chevelle & Skillet.

The first concert I ever attended was at the Red River Valley Fair.  I was in middle school and it was the rock band Survivor.  What's pretty cool about it?  This was the  first concert I took my son to also.  Again, the rock band Survivor.  My son was only 4 or 5 years old but it's something we'll always share and have in common.  Pretty special.  Over the years I've seen some great shows at the Red River Valley Fair.  Growing up in Grand Forks we used to look forward to the fair every year.  I've seen Night Ranger during the peak of their popularity, Rick Springfield & Til' Tuesday, Warrant, Firehouse, Poison, and I'm sure several other rock shows I'm forgetting.  On the Country side I've seen Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Easton Corbin and a few others.

I can't help but wonder if we will see another concert in 2020?  And you have to wonder about fall sports as well.  Glad I like to fish and hunt.
