It's no secret that North Dakotans enjoy their alcohol and one city in our state took the title, once again, as the 'Drunkest City in North Dakota.'

USA Today released their list of the drunkest cities in every state. For another year, it was Fargo that will hold the label of the 'Drunkest City in North Dakota.' This is not much of a surprise, given that just six months ago, Fargo was in the top five drunkest cities in the U.S. Not to mention the fact that it is a college town where there's lots of partying that happens.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that binge drinking for women is having four drinks or more and for men, five drinks or more in a single occasion. Heavy drinkers are considered as women having eight or more drinks and men that have 15 or more drinks during the course of a week.

The state of North Dakota has the highest excessive drinking rate in the country with 24.7% of adults being labeled as excessive drinkers. The national average is 18%. In the Fargo metro area, that number of excessive drinkers is even higher than the state average at 25.2% of adults consuming too much booze.

These statistics can be seen one of two ways; North Dakota either has a drinking problem or we just like to party as much as we can. While we'd all like to believe the latter, it's important that no matter what, please drink responsibly and don't drink and drive.
