Go ahead and tell a North Dakotan about your UFO sighting.  You might as well pull out a deck of Tarot cards and ask if someone wants a reading. Either way, NoDaks will walk right past you on the way to get another Busch Light.

Besides religion, North Dakotans need to see it to believe it.

According to the census site LawnLove.com, North Dakota is at the very bottom of states reporting sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO), or as they are now referred to Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP).   North Dakota is ranked 50th overall for 2022's Best States For UFO Fans. We are followed closely by South Dakota our slightly less attractive sister state.

I thought North Dakota is widely considered a "flyover state".

Seems not so for aliens traveling the galaxies.  If they were out there we could see them pretty easily up here on the high prairies. There are no trees, mountains, or buildings to block our view of the skyline. But it seems we have the least citizens reporting UAP sightings to the prominent National UFO Reporting Center.

So which state registers the most Close Encounters?

California of course.  Obviously, it's gonna be California. E.T. and Elliot flew his bicycle around The Land of Milk and Honey.

The Golden State earned nearly 70 out of 100 possible points, over 26 more than silver medalist Texas. Over 15,400 witness accounts have originated from California alone, representing over 12% of all U.S. sightings and more than double the number in Florida, the state with the next highest.

The study also breaks down Google searches and alien-themed amusement like planetariums and roadside attractions like you find near Area 51. So next time you're convinced you had an alien encounter, maybe just keep it to yourself. We're gonna go grab another Busch Light.  Weirdo.
