Because of high prices, Apple is losing a lot of potential customers in countries like India and China, where average incomes are too low to afford the company's equipment. But when it comes to iPhones and iPads, some people will find a way. A Chinese tech news site recently featured a story about an art student who borrowed money to buy an iPhone last year - and then had to carry bricks for 10 hours a day at a construction site for eight days in exchange.

The brick-carrying student later admitted that the phone wasn’t worth the hassle. (BusinessInsider.com)
