The Fourth of July is just around the corner, and for anyone who has spent any amount of time in the Bismarck-Mandan area, you know it's one of the most exciting times of the year! No celebration would be complete without the Mandan Rodeo Days Celebration, which has been a mainstay in the area since 1879. Once again, six young cowgirls will compete for the chance to represent Rodeo Days as an ambassador for 2013-14.

Queen contestants this year are:

  • Megan Haag, Fredonia
  • Jessica Pfliger, Mandan
  • Danielle Taylor, Mandan

Princess contestants this year are:

  • Lakyn Bruhn, Berthold
  • Mckenzy Dean, Tioga
  • Brianna Horner, Bismarck

On Wednesday, July 3rd, at 11:30, a pageant luncheon will be held at the Seven Seas in Mandan. The luncheon will feature contestant speeches, impromptu questions, and modeling. Cost is $15 in advance or $17 at the door.

In addition to the luncheon, contestants will take part in the horsemanship competition on July 3rd at 8:00 am in the rodeo arena at the Dacotah Centennial Park. This activity is free and open to the public.

The new Rodeo Royalty will be crowned at the July 4th rodeo performance by Miss Rodeo Mandan Codi Miller of Amidon and Miss Rodeo Mandan Princess Kimberly Bauer of Mandan.
