Last Tuesday, February 18th, at Simle Middle School, young women from North Dakota competed at the Bismarck-Mandan & Mercer County Scholarship Competition. Five MISS titleholders and six TEEN titleholders were crowned. Now, they will prepare for another Miss North Dakota or Miss North Dakota's Outstanding Teen in Williston this June.

2020 Preliminary Competition Winners (Teen)

  • Miss State Capitol's Outstanding Teen: Laila Anderson, 14, Bismarck, ND
  • Miss Mercer County's Outstanding Teen: AimeeGrace Wiedrich, 17, Hazen, ND
  • Miss Bismarck's Outstanding Teen: Lauren Peterson, 13, Bismarck, ND
  • Miss Coal Country's Outstanding Teen: Charmaine Haas, 16, Napoleon, ND
  • Miss Northern Lights' Outstanding Teen: Janae Weigel, 16, Kintyre, ND
  • Miss South Shore's Outstanding Teen: Sidney Ihla, 14, Bismarck, ND

The winners of the Miss competition were awarded a $500 scholarship and the Teen winners were awarded a $200 scholarship. Now, in June, 2020, the eleven new titleholders will compete in Williston in another competition. The teens will compete for Miss North Dakota's Outstanding Teen and the adults will compete for Miss North Dakota.
