The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a HIGH WIND WARNING for some areas of the state while other portions of the state receive a high wind advisory as most portions of NoDak will get blown away today, (7/28).

Winds in excess of 50 MPH, gusts to 60 MPH will effect most of the area today. The NWS has issued a HIGH WIND WARNING from 1PM to 11PM Tuesday and will effect the following areas-

  • Bismarck
  • Mandan
  • Hettinger
  • Dickinson
  • Minot
  • Harvey
  • Elgin
  • Bowman
  • Watford City and Williston

A HIGH WIND ADVISORY is in effect today for the area including the James River Valley, Fort Yates, Linton, Ashley and Oaks. These areas will have winds at 30-45 MPH.

You're urged to tied down any loose furniture, trash cans and other objects that can be blown away with these high winds. High profile vehicles should use caution in open areas especially on the interstates.

 

Monday night storms produced strong winds though out the state including winds in Bismarck at 70 MPH.
