About a year-and-a-half ago, Aidan and I decided to finally take the plunge and adopt a homeless kitten. Adopting Raspy from a shelter was the best thing for our family. I wish I could adopt more fur-kids. Since I can't adopt every animal, I like to encourage others to adopt.

If you want to add a four-legged companion to your family, you should look at Furry Friends Rockin' Rescue (FFRR). Founded in 2015, FFRR is a non-profit animal rescue that is run entirely by volunteers. You can help The Rescue by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating. Get more information here.

Today, I talked to Julie from FFRR, and she told me about a big event coming up on February 13th. That day is Giving Hearts Day, where, for 24 hours, money will be raised to help benefit charities like FFRR. The Rescue's goal for Giving Hearts Day is to raise $50,000 to help fund both operational expenses and a low-cost mobile spay and neuter operation. Read more about Giving Hearts Day here.

There are many ways you can help an animal in need. Whether you want to volunteer or donate, foster or adopt, you can help LOCAL homeless animals.
