It's almost time for Bismarck's annual Red Ribbon Carnival! And this year, the event will be held at a brand new location.

The 2015 Red Ribbon Carnival will be hosted by the Police Youth Bureau and the North Dakota National Substance Abuse Program at the NDNG Aviation Readiness Center, located at 3410 Airway Avenue in Bismarck.

The event will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. the evening of October 27, with the theme "Respect Yourself. Be Drug Free." Admission is a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to Community Action.

This will be the 18th Red Ribbon Carnival, which takes place every year during the Red Ribbon Week campaign. The campaign was launched in 1985 in response to the Mexico kidnapping and murder of Drug Enforcement Administration agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena. It offers a chance for the community to unite and take a stand against alcohol and substance abuse.
