Bulgarian Bridal Swap Meets…YIKES!!

Thinking about tying the proverbial knot?  If you think you have pressure from your parents when it comes to who you should date or marry, you should know you have it EASY compared to some of the girls in Bulgaria.

These girls from Gypsy (or Roma) families actually go to “Bridal Markets” in empty parking lots in this country in the hopes of drumming up interest with any future grooms.

Here's how it works: The mothers dress up their age-appropriate daughters in colorful dresses and “gobs of makeup” and take them to these meeting places where sometimes 2,000 people show up to meet the girls and check out the families they come from in order to see if they’d be a good match for their sons.
