Play Ball...Maybe!  For those of you chomping at the bit to play softball, the good news is that there will be a season in Bismarck this year.  The bad news is that we still don't know about McQuade's yet.  That decision will come next week, but I'm crossing my fingers that the charity softball tournament takes place this year.

Yes it's nice for all of the charities that are helped by the proceeds of the event, yes it's nice to see old friends and team mates, yes it's nice for the economic boost provided to local businesses like restaurants, hotels, bars and retail stores...but most of all, YES IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE SOMETHING NORMAL AGAIN IN OUR COMMUNITY!

We want this, we need this, we have to have this.  The time has come for us to get our lives and our community back to normal and nothing does that in the Summer like the Missouri River and the McQuade's Charity Softball Tournament.

The Sam McQuade Sr.-Budweiser Charity Softball Tournament Board of Directors said they will make a final decision on the tournament on May 19.  Here's their Facebook post:  "Our mission is to provide funds for our local charities while hosting the world's largest softball tournament that provides a family reunion-like atmosphere for its participants and spectators that boosts the local economy. That said, we continue to seek guidance from our state, the medical community, and softball associations, amongst others to make our final decision on what would be our 45th annual tournament."

So cross your fingers that we will soon here the immortal words from the Board. Play Ball...Maybe!
